The charm necklace in hypoallergenic aged 925 silver and nickel free, illustrates the Medusa, believed to be the protector and faithful ally for the Romans, an apotropaic symbol that keeps hostile and evil people, the profane and all enemies away. In Roman times it was often placed on the perimeter walls, outside of monuments and public buildings as “City Guardian”.
As an apotropaic symbol it was often used as bracelets and necklaces pendants.
As a warning to the enemies, it was always placed as busts on ships, stone sculptures in ports, studs on shields and in relief in armor for generals and important people.
